The Process

Initial contact

You can make contact with us in a number of ways, either by phone, by email or by completing the simple online form.

We will then have an initial phone conversation to find out a little more about your project and then arrange a convenient time for a preliminary visit.

We usually work within a 60 mile radius of each branch.

Initial consultation

The purpose of this meeting is to start to clarify your wishes and needs. It is always helpful if you have had a chance to gather some reference material for example pictures cut from glossy magazines, books or maybe even photographs of gardens you have visited.

We are very much a design led company and this information combined with an idea of your budget for the project will help us create a design that meets your requirements.

The Survey

After the initial consultation we shall make an appointment for one of our designers to visit. They will then take a detailed project brief and conduct a full site survey. Some sites may require a topographical survey at an additional cost.

At this stage it will also be possible to check whether your brief matches your budget so as to avoid any disappointment later.

Concept plans

Once the survey has been completed and the brief taken, we will create two concept plans for the project. These will show suggested areas of hard landscaping, position of steps if required, walls, pergolas and archways, lawns and borders.

The Presentation

Within 2 – 3 weeks of the initial consultation, we will make an appointment to present the concept plans. In addition to the scale plans, we will have produced a ball park (within 20%) estimate as to the cost of each item. This becomes very useful as we discuss the design in detail.

Amendments to the plan

We will leave these plans, and the costs involved in creating them with you, to review in your own time. These plans can be quite complex and so maybe a week or two is needed to discuss them.

The Final Plan

Any updates or changes that you should want to make can be discussed at our next meeting. From these changes, we will produce the final plan and a highly detailed construction quote.

The Planting Plan

The planting plan is of great importance, forming the heart of every garden space.

Just as the concept plans show the structural design to the garden, the planting plan shows details of the planting.

A full planting plan would include quantities, species and sizes of plants and an ongoing maintenance programme if required. (planting plan is available at an additional cost)

Construction

As members of the APL & the HTA you can feel reassured that we have undergone independent inspections to ensure that our work is carried out to the highest professional standards.

We will provide you with a schedule of works with estimated completion dates for construction as an integral part of the quotation.

If you wish to make changes and/or additions to the design during construction we are flexible and will try to keep any minor changes within the quotation.

Any major changes that you require during construction will be fully costed to allow you to budget for them before we commence the additional work.

We ensure full Health and Safety measures are in place before any work begins and provide regular progress reports direct to the client.

As with all projects, communication is paramount and we ensure that you, the client, are consulted in all aspects of the work. By offering a total solution, we produce high levels of service, quality and safety, which are reflected in all our professional landscaping activities.

Post Project Review

Finally, customer satisfaction is very important to us and so that we may monitor our standards, we ask you to take time to complete a simple review form, asking for honest feedback to help us improve still further.
